YLE Foundation participates in MENAClimateWeek.

With the participation of Ahmed Fathi, founder and CEO of YLE Foundation, YLE Foundation is proud to be part of #MENAClimateWeek.

The MENA Climate Week is taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2023, from October 8 to 12. This event brings together policymakers, businesses, civil society, and youth to share climate solutions and stimulate #ClimateAction in the region.

MENACW 2023 will also help gather region-specific contributions to inform the first-ever Global Stocktake, concluding at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates in December 2023. This presents a unique opportunity to call for decisive and comprehensive change in response to the urgent need to accelerate progress across all areas of the Paris Agreement.

It's worth mentioning that the Climate Week in Riyadh is one of four regional climate weeks, each focused on different pathways based on the systems:

→ Africa Climate Week (ACW 2023) in Nairobi, from September 4 to 8, under the auspices of the Kenyan government.

→ MENA Climate Week (MENACW 2023) in Riyadh, from October 8 to 12, under the sponsorship of the Saudi Arabian government.

→ Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW 2023) in Panama City, from October 23 to 27, under the sponsorship of the Panamanian government.

→ Asia-Pacific Climate Week (APCW 2023) in Johor, Malaysia, from November 13 to 17, 2023, under the sponsorship of the Malaysian government.

Therefore, we look forward to strengthening work and collaboration for climate action in Africa, the Middle East, and preparing for #COP28
