YLE moderates a session entitled the road to COP27 on the sidelines of UNEA5

“Youth Love Egypt Foundation” moderates a session entitled  the road to COP 27  on the sidelines of the United Nations Environment Assembly

 

The Youth Love Egypt Foundation, the observer member of the United Nations Environment Program and the official representative of the African Climate Justice Alliance in Egypt, organized a dialogue session entitled “The Road to COP 27”, with the participation of environmental experts in various countries of the world.

 

Mr. Ahmed Fathy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of  Youth Love Egypt Foundation, explained that the dialogue session dealt with several topics related to climate change and the current environmental challenges that threaten the countries of the world in recent times, pointing out that during the session it was agreed to announce the Federation of accredited major groups  to the United Nations Program Until COP 27.

Ms. Nesrine Elsayem Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s Advisory Group on Climate has pointed out the important role that youth play in the success of COP27 and the necessity to support the Egyptian efforts towards the success of this African COP ، she has addressed advices for youth to explore more opportunities and think in different way .

 

The Egyptian  Foreign Minister Assistant Ambassador Mohamed Nasr, referred to Egypt's preparations for COP 27 and  launching of the National Climate Change Strategy, reviewing the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating with the relevant ministries, local and international bodies  for COP 27 working to provide opportunities for youth to attend more than Previous environmental conferences and events.

 

Ambassador Johanna Lessinger, Secretary-General of the Stockholm +50 Conference, explained that the upcoming climate summit will be an important opportunity to learn about young people's ideas, learn about their ambitions and help them implement their environmental projects, noting the importance of the participation of African countries in the climate summit and demanded facilities for attendance and participation for all to achieve the ultimate goal in Facing changes.

 

Ayman El Sharkawy, the UN Environment Regional Facilitator for Africa, said that he will work to coordinate between Morocco and Egypt through joint African groups in the current period in preparation for Morocco's presidency of the Sixth General Assembly in two years to be held in Nairobi.

 

This came with the participation of many African experts and groups specialized in environmental affairs and interested youth and in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Fathy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Youth Love Egypt Foundation, Ambassador Johanna Lessinger, Secretary General of the Stockholm +50 Conference, Ambassador Mohamed Nasr, Director of the Environment and Sustainable Development Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasreen Al-Saim, Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s Advisory Group on Climate, Mohamed Abdel Raouf, Representative of Major Approved Groups to the UN Environment Programme, Tariq Hassan, UN Environment Regional Facilitator for West Asia, Ayman El Sharkawy, UN Environment Regional Facilitator for Africa, Gertiutde, UN Environment Regional Facilitator In Africa.
